Rare, the very first Japanese produced watch with a bell from late 50's, Citizen Alarm. Freshly serviced.
Unlike later versions, the original Alarm utilized a disc instead of the dedicated hand for alarm function.
The case design features the thin bezel and simple shape typical of the era, but to visually express the alarm function, it achieves a unique look with its distinctive crown placement and the indicator disc hand at the center of the dial. The upper surface of the lugs is edged with two differently angled planes, making them appear slimmer than they actually are. The back edge of the lugs is chamfered for comfort against the skin.
Case condition as excellent with no noticeable scratches or nicks.
Dial and alarm disc have many age related blemishes. Far from perfect, but full of character and personality.
Gorgeous design and very interesting movement.
Left crown is for winding alarm mainspring and setting /engaging alarm. Pull the crown to engage the alarm and turn counterclockwise to set the alarm time.
