1978 Seiko Quartz Superior 9983-8000

1978 Seiko Superior, top of the line Seiko with superior accuracy twin quartz caliber 9983.

The most accurate watch Seiko made in 70's. 
This watch was priced at 230,000 yen in 1979.

Original stainless steel bracelet XBB170 L. Full size and easily adjustable. It's in pretty good condition, however the section where movable clasp hooking part goes, is stiff. Check pics! Thin, flat metal part that helps keep it locked in, was missing, and the previous owner used some resin to keep it in place. I cleaned it and repaired the clasp but there is still some resin in between small links which makes that section stiff. It causes no problem at all, neither in use nor visually, but it's worth noting. 

Original, sapphire clearlex crystal. Scratch and chip free.

New battery and rubber gaskets on crown and battery hatch. 
Cleaned and lubricated.

Beautiful dial is clean and flawless with all minute markers applied. One anomaly is lack of numbers at the bottom edge of the dial. Not sure why that is, as every other detail on it is as it should be. 

Case is in excellent condition with few very small nicks. None too noticeable.

Watch looks and works great.
