1978 Seiko Lord Quartz 7853-5010

 Overhauled, rare 1978 Seiko Lord Quartz. 

Lord Quartz line was introduced in 1978 and was sitting below King Quartz, although models with 7853 movement were often more expensive than some King Quartz models. This one was at the very top, and with solidly built tank style case with nicely integrated steel bracelet and rich looking green dial, it is obvious why. 

Case and the bracelet are in very good condition with some minor scratches. 

Green dial is flawless and it changes its appearance depending on the angle and light. 

Unfortunately, I couldn't source NOS Seiko correct crystal. I tried polishing the original and was just about done when I dropped it. It hit the edge of the glass jar and chipped. 

I ended up getting it custom cut, but the glass place couldn't do it to the original specs. As is crystal is sitting slightly lower than the top of the bezel, which might not be so bad, as it protects the glass from getting chipped or scratched. 

Completely disassembled and cleaned, including the movement. 

New battery and rubber gaskets.
