1976 Seiko King Quartz 0853-8001

 Deadstock, unused 1976 JDM Seiko King Quartz high grade quartz watch with box and papers. 

Dial is truly exceptional and it has to be seen in person to truly appreciate its beauty and all the transitions it goes through under different angle and light. 

Case is also quite exceptional. It looks almost sculpted, yet sharp and entirely brushed, with only bezel being polished, which makes the whole watch pop even more. Full size, easily adjustable bracelet seamlessly continues where the case stops and majestically flows around the wrist. 

Unfortunately, I felt devastated when it happened, there are indentations on lower half corners from the watch press. After inspecting the movement, I needed a press to close it. Despite having folded cloth on the bottom, the amount of pressure was little too strong and the result can be seen in pictures. 

It doesn't take away from the beauty of the watch, but it hurts as the watch was absolutely pristine beforehand. 

Caliber 0853 is a direct descendant of 38QR. It is a robust, well made movement, watchmaker friendly and accurate.
