1973 Citizen Cosmotron X8 Electronic 4-810139
1973 Citizen Cosmotron X8 Electronic watch in very good condition.
In 1966 Citizen released first electronic watch in Japan. Electronic watches existed before, but Cosmotron was on a whole new level. It was the world’s first genuine electronic wristwatch that has adopted a moving-magnet type balance motor, driven by transistor on the regulating device. Production lasted for about 10 years as quartz watches took over completely by mid 70's.
This model is powered by caliber 0840, the second generation of cosmotron movements.
Watch is in very good condition in and out.
Sharp looking case is in great condition with no noticeable scratches with naked eye.
Original plastic crystal has been polished and it's scratch free.
Dial has a slight stain on the edge between 2 and 4 minute mark. Otherwise, very clean and beautiful.
On a newish (never used) genuine leather strap.
Disassembled and cleaned.
New gaskets everywhere.
Watch runs well with good accuracy.
