1972 Citizen 28800 Leopard 4-770382-Y

Serviced, very rare 1972 Citizen Leopard high beat 28800 automatic watch, all original in very good condition. 

Leopard brand with high quality, high beat automatic movements represented the peak of Citizen mechanical watchmaking, before they went all in on quartz and downgraded their mechanicals to a lone caliber 8200. 

These watches were direct competition to King Seiko and were in every way just as good as Seiko. 

This example has very captivating green, wood grain pattern dial with large, gold, triangular prism shaped indeces. 

Stainless steel case is super sharp, beautifully designed with very nice original mesh bracelet that will fit up to 17cm wrist. There are couple of nicks on the case, but overall I think it's in very good condition considering it's 52 year old. 

Original crystal has few small scratches that are not too noticeable. 

Caliber 7710 ticks at 8 beats per second. It has manual winding, hacking and unusual day/date quick set. To change date, hold the watch with 12 o'clock pointing up and push the crown. For weekday, turn it upside down with 6 o'clock pointing up and push the crown.
