1969 Seiko 5 Sports Regatta Timer 6119-6050

 Serviced, iconic, ultra cool 1969 Seiko 5 Sports "Regatta Timer" 21 jewels automatic watch in good condition. 

In 1968, Seiko 5 Sports was created as a more upscale brand, targeting young people with  active lifestyles and was marketed as a sports watch with robust features.

It features caliber 6119( base caliber for 61GS). Movement is in excellent condition and runs accurately.

Case is bold and edgy with some  scratches associated with its age and normal use. 

Bezel is in good condition. Bezel insert has few scratches, but still looks good. It's bidirectional and it turns nicely with just enough resistance. 

Dial is clean and in good condition. Original lume shows its age. Hands are relumed. 

On a new, black, Horween leather strap. 

All the gaskets have been replaced. Around the crystal, on the crown and on the caseback. 

As it's fully automatic, it needs to be shaken for a few minutes before wearing it. To quickly change date push the crown. For weekdays, advance the time past midnight until the day changes and then go back to 9 pm and repeat until the correct day is displayed.
