The Seiko Seikomatic-R 8305-5000, introduced in December 1967, is a distinctive timepiece that showcases Seiko's innovative design and engineering from the 1960s. This model features a rectangular stainless steel case measuring approximately 32mm in width (excluding the crown), 40mm in length, and 10mm in thickness, with an 18mm lug width.
The watch boasts a black dial adorned with a unique radiating star pattern, enhancing its visual appeal. The date window is prominently positioned at 12 o'clock, framed by a circular border.
The watch is equipped with a NOS acrylic crystal and comes on a new Seiko cowhide leather strap.
At its heart lies the Seiko caliber 8305C, a 30-jewel automatic movement operating at 18,000 beats per hour. This movement offers both automatic and manual winding capabilities and features a quickset date function adjustable in both directions.
Movement has been completely stripped, cleaned, lubricated and regulated to run well. It's well engineered movement with all 30 jewels being used.
The watch is in good condition, with minor signs of wear consistent with its age.
