Serviced, 1964 Tokyo Olympics Commemorative Model, Seiko Crown One-Push Chronograph manual winding watch in beautiful condition.
The Seiko Crown One Push Chronograph is a historically significant timepiece from Seiko, released in 1964. It was Seiko’s first chronograph wristwatch and played a major role in Japan’s watchmaking history.
Fitted with caliber 5719A, based on the 560 Crown movement which also spawned the 5740 series fitted to the Lord Marvels as well as the 3180, 430 and 5722 chronometer movements fitted to the first Grand Seikos.
Chronograph Mechanism is single-pusher (monopusher) system, meaning the same button starts, stops, and resets the chronograph.
Dial has clean and simple design with a rotating bezel for elapsed time measurement instead of a subdial. There are couple of small blemishes, but otherwise it's very clean and beautiful with original lume on it and on the hands.
Stainless steel case is untouched and still sharp, with a few small nicks.
As it's the case with most of these watches, Olympic flames on the caseback have faded a bit, but still clearly visible.
NOS Genuine Seiko crystal.
Unlike modern chronographs with multiple subdials, the 45899 uses a rotating bezel to track elapsed time instead of a traditional 30-minute counter.
Fully disassembled and cleaned.
Movement was serviced and it runs very well considering it turned 60 last year.
On a new Seiko cowhide leather strap.
