Serviced, 1964 Seiko Champion 850 Alpinist, gold plated, 17 jewels hand winding watch.
As part of the second generation of the Alpinist series, it succeeded the 1959 Seiko Laurel Alpinist, which was initially designed for Japanese mountain climbers.
Electro-gold-plated (EGP) stainless steel with a stainless steel back. Some wear to gold plating reflective of its age. The case measures approximately 35mm in diameter and 9mm in thickness. Notably, the gold-plated model appears slightly larger than its stainless steel counterpart due to a thinner rehaut, allowing for a more expansive dial display.
Dial is clean and beautiful featuring a pearlescent silver finish with applied gold-tone bar indices.
Equipped with a domed acrylic crystal, typical of watches from this era.
Powered by the Seikosha Caliber 851, a manual-winding movement with 17 jewels operating at 18,000 beats per hour. Serviced and running great.
On a new Seiko chocolate brown, cowhide leather strap.
