1930's Seikosha Pocket Watch
1930's Seikosha Pocket Watch
Serviced, Rare, pre-war 1930's Seikosha Pocket Watch in fair condition.
Not much information is available about it. I spoke with a local, old watchmaker, in his 70's. He told me that this movement design and lack of jewels points to watch being made before the war, most likely in 30's, with exact year unknown. It has very "interesting", to put it lightly, keyless works design that I have never seen before. Unfortunately, it popped out when I removed the wheel train bridge and I didn't get a chance to take a picture or have a look at it. It caused me a great deal of frustration trying to put it back together and when I finally did, it was too late for a picture.
The watch has obvious signs of its age, but it has a ton of character not found in newer pieces.
Movement is clean, no rust, but there is wear and tear on parts. It runs reasonably well considering it's about 90 years old. After few days, varience has been within 30 seconds, but actual accuracy may be different in actual use.
